Headbands! For people who think hats are just too much…

OK, so there’s ‘Headingly’, which is the cabled one and ‘Headington’ which is the blackberry stitch one. They are very easy and quick to knit and adored by teenagers, it seems…

Headingly is approximately 12cm(4¾“) wide and 48.5cm(19“) long, but this is easily adjustable. The cable pattern is both written out and charted.

Tension: 8 sts and 14 rows of cable pattern measure 5cm(2”) across and 6cm(2¼“) deep.

Headington is approximately 11cm(4¼“) wide and 48.5cm(19“) long. The blackberry stitch here is written only.

Tension:17 sts and 21 rows of Blackberry pattern measure 7.5cm(3”) across and 10cm(4”) deep.

1 x 50g ball of yarn per headband.

Each headband takes just about the entire 50g ball of the King Cole Merino blend Chunky, making them quick, economical knits and perfect for presents as it’s superwash wool.

Spare yarn for provisional cast-on and spare needle for 3-needle cast-off.
