Hawkbit Cardigan
The body of this garment is worked from the bottom up. The pocket lining are knit first (and double as swatches). The body is worked in one piece to the underarms, the sleeves worked in the round to the underarm. The body and sleeves are joined and the yoke is worked in 1 piece with raglan shaping. A front band of vertical 1x1 rib is knitted separately and sewn on with mattress stitch, but a simpler pick-up-and-knit-button band may be substituted. Magic Loop, 2 circulars or any other pefered method of working small knitting circumfreces in the round can be substituted for double pointed needles (DPN).
Jamieson and Smith Shetland Supreme is an undyed, fingering/jumper weight woolen spun yarn. Similar yarns would be Jamiesons Spindrift, Harrisville Shetland or Brooklyn Tweed Loft. If substituting a different style of yarn please look for Sport weight yarns that knit at a gauge of 22 stitches x 34 rows= 4” in Stockinette stitch.
