Harfang Mitts
A striped hat and mitt set with the cable only in one colour? It’s like magic! Crochet cables are worked using raised stitches to define the cable and crossed by missing stitches then returning to the missed stitches (ie working the stitches out of order) Because the raised stitches are always worked around a raised stitch from two rows below, the cable appears to magically float over the strip pattern. The whole combines to make a very attractive and wearable set.
Harfang forms part of the book Everyday Wearables - a collection of eight wardrobe staples with comprehensive instructions and many photo tutorials to help you make garments that fit and flatter.
Pattern is written in standard UK crochet terminology with US translations provided in the abbreviations.
