Harbour Jumper
The inspiration for Harbour struck while knitting on a wall looking out on the sound of Jura. Through the clear waters I could see kelp twisting and turning in the current while the wind whipped above. Harbour is a classic fisherman sweater gone on holiday.
Designed with generous ease and a tunic fit, Harbour is perfect for cozying up against the often blustery winds off the Scottish
coast. Harbour is knit top down, in the round with raglan shaping making it easy to try on while you knit.
This cosy relaxed sweater is knit in twisted rib allover, in the round from the top down, using traditional raglan shaping with shoulder detail, and a zig zag pattern at the hem for a modern take on the traditional fisherman’s rib.
The clean lines of the twisted rib are created with a ribbed cabled cast on at the neck and maintained by tubular bind offs at the cuffs and hem. The neckline, shaped by short rows, is designed to fit like a mock neck, with extra instructions to make it a full turtleneck (folded or unfolded).
