Happy Socks
I found a self-striping 6-ply yarn. I started to play with it and these socks just kinda happened. They make me happy.
These socks, being sport-weight, are a quick knit. They start toe-up, feature a simple heel and finish with a fun, short “corrugated” top which really shows off the yarn.
My favorite toe-up cast on is Judy’s Magic Cast-on, but you could use whatever toe-up cast-on you prefer. The heel is the super simple heel, where you do a series of increases, and then turn the heel until you are down to the proper number of stitches. It looks a bit different, but I find this heel very comfortable to wear as well as being simple to knit.
The top is a series of “corrugations” which makes a nice simple finish.
Thought he socks can be knit form one color of yarn, a self-striping yarn makes them look oh so fancy. Have fun!
