Design and construction
This pattern is tested and proof-read.
List of testers at the bottom of the notes.
The textured st-pattern flows from the leg to the instep, and creates a lovely scalloped line towards the foot.
The socks are worked top-cuff-down and seamlessly.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend any fingering weight yarn that knits up to gauge. If you want the stitch-pattern to show off better you may use a solid yarn in light/bright colours.
I used Madelinetosh “Tosh Merino light” in colourway “Barbara deserves better” to work my pair. This yarn comes in skeins of 384 m/420 yards, and you will need approximately 300 m/336 yards.
To make the sample size you need approximately 270 m/295 yards. Needles: I used 2 circular needles, size 2.5 mm/US1.5 to work the socks. In the pattern they are referred to as needle 1 and needle 2. You may substitute the circular needles by one single circular needle (if working the magic loop). Notions: 2 removable stitch-markers. A DPN (optional). Tapestry needle. Blocking tools.

Gauge
28 sts and 40 rounds in stockinette sts (and also the stitch-patterns) = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

The pattern

  • The textured pattern is charted, as well as written out round-by-round, for the leg and the instep.
  • There is a schematic showing the construction of the sock.
  • All sections are thoroughly instructed.
  • The measurements are given in cm’s, as well as in inches. Instructions for swatching.

Techniques involved

  • cast-on
  • working textured patterns, following a chart and/or written instructions
  • picking up sts (for the gusset)
  • decreases (gusset and toe)
  • grafting (the toe-sts

I estimate that you need basic knitting-skills to work the pattern.
