Hafgufa was the Icelandic name for an ancient sea monster, which many believe to be the Kraken. It uses five gradient shades of blue to depict the ocean depths, but you may wish to choose a self-striping or gradient yarn instead.

Materials:
Set of 5 DPNs, size 2.25 mm
~ 150-200 yds of Design Colour (fingering weight)
~ 30-40 yds each of Colour A, B, C, D and E or 150-200 yds of one Contrast Colour (fingering weight),
Tapestry needle; 2 scrap pieces of yarn for thumb.

Small: Gauge: 11 sts and 11 rows = ~1” across palm
Final measurements: 3 ½” across by 9 ½” long

Large: Gauge: 9 sts and 9 rows = ~1” across palm
Final measurements: 4” across by 11” long
