Gush Shawl

Wedge Shaped Shawl.

Worked sideways from a small number of stitches at CO.

Chart reading skills highly recommended, but line-by-line (abbreviated) instructions also provided.

Intermediate Lace Skills:
Special Stitches.
Increase, decrease, and directional yo closures occur on both sides of work.
Uses: knit, purl, k2tog/p2tog, ssk/ssp2tog tbl, pyop, yo, YO tw L(p), YO tw R(p)

Special Stitches – Directional YO closures: YO tw R(p) & L(p) have captioned video demonstration links.

Stitch is beautiful with any yarn and needle pairing.

Knit to any size to maximize yarn on hand - great for gradients.

700 yards (640 m) Light Worsted Weight Yarn

Sample Yarn: Malabrigo Rios in Celery
100% Superwash Merino (Plied)
210 yds (192 m) per 100 g

Sample Usage: 660 y (603 m) 320 g
Suggest 4 hanks on hand.

Gauge

Gauge is not critical but will affect size and yarn requirements.

1 5/8” (4.1 cm) Wide by 2 1/3” (6 cm) Tall

Notes and Tips

Firm fabric and plump yarn will maximize texture dimension, as will snug decreases and yo’s.

Block gently, or not at all.
