Greengage Beanie
Rich, intricate textures adorn this fitted beanie; twisted ribs and cables combine in the brim, leading into a cabled lattice decorated with triple clam shell motifs resembling berries or buds, topped with an oversize fluffy pompom.
Materials:
- 1 x 100g skein of Baa Ram Ewe’s Titus 4ply in shade Chevin.
- 2.50mm - 2.75mm double pointed or circular needles.
- Cable needle.
- Stitch markers (optional)
This hat is worked in the round. Due to the requirements of placing the cable stitch, the pattern is only written for one size, to fit average adult female head, though the elasticity of the cabled fabric means it will stretch to fit virtually any size. For a larger size, work on 2.75mm - 3.00mm needles.
The pompom is optional of course, though I think it does complete the look.
The pattern is a combination of written and charted instructions.
Yarn substitutions; This hat can be made with any standard weight 4ply/fingering yarn, though for most other yarns you will need to work the main body of the hat on 3.25mm needles to achieve the correct tension. Be sure to check your gauge first.
