he Granny Dot hat and scarf set is a fun, colourful take on the granny stripe with some extra dots, in the form of puff stitches, thrown in. Worked in double knit yarn, this is an easy cosy scarf and slouchy beanie hat pattern with a ribbed brim.

Skills Used:
Knowledge of basic crochet stitches, techniques and terminology is assumed.
The scarf pattern is great for beginners with some experience and the hat for those with a little more experience or for those looking to increase their skills.
The pattern is worked mainly in US double crochet (UK Treble), and uses chainless foundation stitches (tutorial linked in pattern) and puff stitches (described in the pattern).
The hat requires some decrease stitches and working in the back loops only to create the brim (tutorial linked in the pattern).

Materials
Both hat and scarf are worked using acrylic double knit yarn in a range of colours. The largest size hat uses approximately 50g, 125m/140yds of the main colour and 40g, 100m/110yds in contrasting colours. The scarf uses approximately 150g, 375m/410yds of the main colour and 70-80g, 200m/220yds in contrasting colours

Sizing
The scarf pattern is written in one size measuring 64in/160cm long by 8.5in/22cm wide, with guidance to change the length.
The Hat pattern is written in 3 sizes, child, teen/small adult and adult sizes with measurements for each size given in the pattern.

Please note pom poms can be a choking hazard. Never leave babies infants or children unattended with pom poms or whilst wearing this hat.
