This clever owl is ready for graduation day with their mortarboard hat. The owl would make a super graduation present, or a gift for teachers. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the owl is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). This pattern incorporates intarsia colour-work.

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, beads for eyes and cardboard for the mortarboard.

SIZES
One size only - 14cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
