Golden Hour
This design is part of my book New Ways with Crochet.
The book explores fresh stitch ideas and ways to adapt and combine them for projects of all kinds, from garments to blankets.
It is divided into five themed chapters:
- Small stitches and gentle textures
- New ways to play with double crochet
- A fresh look at working into the back loop
- An innovative technique for textured crochet
- And my signature crochet cables
Each chapter ends with a shawl that shows the stitches in use. The Golden Hour shawl comes from Chapter 2: new ways to play with double crochet
CONSTRUCTION
The Golden Hour shawl is worked from the center of the top down. It is easily adjustable, with extra stitches at each row’s end to create a lovely, comfy boomerang shape that wraps beautifully around the shoulders.
Radiating a cheerful glow in two colors, this shawl features three different stitch patterns: it begins with a softly textured section, moves into playful colorwork rows, and finishes with bold ribbing.
