Direction: Bottom Up

As with all of the Wonderland shawls, this pattern is written for one skein. However, there are lots of options to play and customize this design. With minimal math you can easily make this into a larger shawl (Keep in mind you’ll need additional yardage!) Instructions within the pattern walk you through the steps needed for resizing. You can also play with color combinations. Do the first ruffle in coordinating color. Or do both ruffles in the same color and the body in another. Work Ruffle One in Color A, Ruffle Two through the garter ridge in Color B, and then stripe Color A and B for the stockinette portion.

How about changing the design even more and creating a capelet instead of a shawl?

All the effort is in the beginning of this shawl. Once you get past the layered ruffle border you will be moving quickly toward the finish line. So don’t get discouraged by the long cast on and first few rows.

The shawl shown used 98 grams (approx. 393 yards) of fingering weight yarn.
