Gloria Dei Cowl
Here’s a sweet little cowl/neck warmer that plays with color and pattern. It is completely reversible with a different pattern on each half. The double thickness makes it warm while the fingering weight yarn keeps it lightweight.
Starting with a provisional cast on, the cowl is worked in the round from charts. The ends are joined using a three-needle bind off, creating a ridge that echoes the turning ridge separating the two patterns.
You will need approximately 200 yards each of two contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn, and a US size 4 (3.5mm) 16” circular needle. as well as an additional needle for the three-needle bind off.
Skills required are knitting in the round, reading a basic chart, stranded color work, and three-needle bind off.
The finished cowl has a height of 7.5”/19 cm and a circumference of 21”/53.25 cm.
