Gingham the easy way: bandana
This bandana cowl uses a special mosaic technique to create the colourwork: you only work with one colour in each row - you slip the other colour to create the motif.
Allow approx. 130m/145yds of each of 2 colours with good contrast between the yarns - if you use a self-striping, handspun or variegated yarn as one of the yarns you’ll get an extra dimentsion for no extra effort.
The pattern is listed as DK, but you could use and similar weight: sport, worsted or aran: you do not need to knit to a specific gauge.
