Ghati
Ghati means cover in Arabic. This simple bonnet is one of the first designs I ever made. This update is a much neater, more elegant version of that pattern. I knit hundreds of these. If you knit for charity or have lots of babies being born in your circle of friends, this is perfect. It is highly customizable, can be made to look more masculine or feminine, and you can make between three and four from a single skein of sport weight yarn. It is not sophisticated. It is sweet. It is practical. Babies need their heads covered to protect them from the sun and to keep them warm. This is a pretty, easy way to do it.
