Gemstone Cardigan
Inspired by a 1930s knit coat design, this updated version will look great in almost any chunky yarn from rustic to glam.
Worked in one piece from the bottom up, the stitch at each front edge is slipped for a neat edge. Wide bands of moss stitch edge the fronts. After dividing the front and back for the armholes, work the sleeves in the round to the armholes. The body and sleeves are joined to work the yoke in one piece with raglan shaping. Use two large buttons to close the front.
While not quite instant gratification, this cardigan will work up so quickly it will feel like the next best thing.
Note: stated gauge is using size 11 (8 mm) needles.
