Geborgenheit
“Geborgenheit” another hard to translate German word, literally meaning: “Protected-ness” or a bit more fitting might be “sheltered-ness”. Best translated as: a deep, emotional feeling of safety, comfort; being emotionally and physically completely secure. Like the feeling when you’re wrapped in a warm shawl or hugged by someone who makes you feel safe.
No better word fitting for a big, cozy cabled shawl, made out of soft, comforting bison and wool yarn. The yarn was a gift from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law from a ranch in Montana several years ago and I knew it had to become a cozy, comforting shawl.
Meet: “Geborgenheit”.
