This simple waistcoat is perfect for beginners, worked in garter stitch throughout, it provides an easy and relaxing knitting experience while producing a textured, slightly stretchy fabric. The waistcoat is constructed in three separate pieces—a back panel and two front panels, worked bottom up—which are then sewn together. The front closes with four buttons, the button holes are worked as part of the knit using YO method. There is an optional back cinch piece which may be used to shape the back section to fit. The waistcoat can be worn on its own or as a layering piece.
