Materials
Drops Flora in Light Grey, 65% wool, 35% alpaca, 15% alpaca (50g/210m/229yds).
Drops Kid Silk in Marzipan, 75% mohair, 25% silk (25g/210m/229yds).
3.5mm hook (US E/4) or other hook size that meets gauge.
3.75mm hook - used if making roll neck version only.
Stitch markers are useful to mark beg & end of rows.
I met gauge with a single strand of Scheepjes Stone Washed in a swatch.
The blue version uses WYS Colour Lab DK. Which is a slightly heavier yarn weight than the pattern calls for so when meeting gauge, it creates a firmer fabric, which is less drapey than the fluffy sweater. It will be warm in winter!

If making the crew neck, remove one ball of each from your shopping list.
Notes
- The pattern is written in UK & US terms.
- The main stitch pattern is a single row pattern repeat.
- This pattern has been designed with 10
- 16cm positive ease.
- This pattern is best for intermediate crocheters and those with previous experience of reading written patterns.
- Charts are included for stitch pattern, which demonstrate neck shaping and sleeve increases.
For reference, my height is (almost) 5’8” and I’m a UK size 12 with a 99cm bust (between sizes 3 & 4 - typical!). I am wearing the size 3. If you’re between sizes too, you may wish to size down. Measure the width of your favourite sweater to compare and help you decide.
Construction
- This jumper is worked in different sections. One front piece, one back piece, two sleeves are all worked from the bottom up.
- The roll neck is made separately and stitched to neck opening.
- The crew neck is worked using a Join As You Go Ribbing.
- Cuffs and waistband are also added at the end using Join As You Go Ribbing.
