FRUITY CARDIGAN LEMON AND STRAWBERRY KNITTING PATTERN AND YARN
Knitting kit with yarn and free digital knitting pattern. We love Fruity knits, and now comes a cardigan that is similar to our cute fruit sweater.
We have refined the pattern and made it step-by-step at the start, and with a separate diagram for the start of the front piece. A video link to how to knit the fruit diagram is included in the pattern (and on our website). The cardigan is knitted from the top down, back and forth. The yoke and neck rib are knitted at the end. First, two front pieces are knitted while increasing towards the neck and sleeve opening. Then the back piece is knitted, here you knit stitches in the cast-on edge of the front pieces and cast on new stitches between them. Knit back and forth with sleeve increases to the same length as the front piece. The front and back pieces are placed on the same needle and knitted together to the specified or desired length. The sleeves are knitted from the top down by knitting stitches in the sleeve opening.
The pattern is made and adapted from Fluff Mohair yarn from HipKnitShop. Pictured in Lemon jacket in “Lemonade” with stem “Pine Forest” and lemons in “little Miss Sunshine” in sizes L-XL.
Extra length: add 1 skein of main color and 1 skein of fruit color (all sizes), this must then be purchased separately.
If we are free of a color in Fluff, the corresponding color in Hip Mohair can be used (e.g. Pine forest Hip Mohair), with 4 threads for the same thickness (divide 1 skein into smaller skeins).
You also need buttons – 5 pcs.
FIT
The recommended range of motion is approximately + 10-15 cm from the chest measurement / waist measurement for a slightly loose fit. If your waist measurement measured around the chest (or widest point of the upper body) is 96 cm, size XS will fit best (range of motion of 14 cm). Not sure about your size? Feel free to measure the waist measurement of a jacket you like the fit of, if you are unsure whether to go up or down in size.
PINS
On this cardigan we have chosen to adjust the sizes according to the knitting needles and gauge, to ensure the best possible result. Fluff mohair is a yarn that fills the stitch pattern very nicely in different needle sizes. The yarn gives a nice result on both thinner and thicker needles (as you can see in the pictures of the different sizes here in the pattern). The pattern is easy to medium - but requires that you can knit a swatch and measure your gauge correctly. More info in the pattern.
