Frosty Flower
This flower uses individually knitted petals in garter stitch. Big decreases (5 stitches reduced to 1) at the beginning of the petal create diamond-shaped petals. The advantage of knitting one petal at a time allows you to judge how well you like the petal without a big investment in time and yarn.
The petals shown are 1.75 inches long.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, SK2P and decrease 5 stitches down to 1 (see notes).
Optional: single crochet edging around the flower with “Arctic Rays” by Rainbow Gallery
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
4.5 yards of Cocktail “deluxe” yarn by Go Handmade will make a petal at gauge. 18 yards = 4 petals, 27 yards = 6 petals
Gauge and number of petals per flower is up to you.
