From the Toe Up
From the Toe Up are a pair of socks, exactly as the name says – they are knit from the toe up. Starting out with just a few stitches, the toe is shaped and created through increase stitches.
Often a traditional heel flap and gusset involves multiple amounts of stitches to be picked up. However, with this pair, you don’t have to pick up a single stitch! Instead, this heel flap and gusset is created by increasing and decreasing stitches. Then shaped by using short rows consisting of wrapped and turned stitches.
The k3, p1 rib adds an extra detail. This creates another element of interest while knitting and at the same time helps with the fit of the sock. Since rib can expand and contract, this allows for the sock to gently hug your foot and leg for that oh so comfy fit.
