FREYA hat and cowlThe FREYA hat is – just as its sister design, the FREYA cowl – a perfect combination of the luxurious organic yarn Cashmere Delizia and the beautiful, unique FREYA “faux” cable pattern. The voluminous yarn provides fantastic stitch definition (especially in the lighter colorways) and creates an extraordinarily soft and lightweight fabric to keep you warm and cozy throughout the colder months. Be warned, it might be hard to ever wear anything else close to your skin after experiencing this outstanding yarn.

After an optional tubular cast-on for a neat and clean edge, the hat starts with 1x1 ribbing and then transitions into the structured pattern, which is shaped entirely by decreases and increases. The straight main section of the hat is followed by the decreases for the perfectly shaped crown.

One idea behind this simple design of the hat and cowl is to help you become familiar with the wonderful FREYA pattern in rounds, so that you can work it by heart when starting one of the more elaborate FREYA patterns like the sweater or the shawl.

NEEDLES

You can work the whole hat with circular needles (using the magic loop method for the crown) or start with circular needles and switch to double-pointed needles for the crown.

Die „FREYA hat“ ist – ebenso wie ihr Schwestermodell, der „FREYA cowl“ – eine perfekte Kombination aus dem luxuriösen Bio-Garn Cashmere Delizia und dem wunderschönen, einzigartigen FREYA-Muster, einem “falschen” Zopfmuster. Das voluminöse Garn sorgt für ein fantastisches Maschenbild (besonders in helleren Farbtönen) und ein außergewöhnlich weiches und leichtes Material, das dich in den kälteren Monaten warm und behaglich hält. Vorsicht: Es könnte schwer sein, jemals etwas anderes dicht an der Haut zu tragen, nachdem du diese hervorragende Wolle erlebt hast.

Nach einem optionalen italienischen Maschenanschlag für eine ordentliche und saubere Kante beginnt die Mütze mit einem 1x1-Rippenmuster. Dieses geht in das Strukturmuster über, das ausschließlich durch Abnahmen und Zunahmen geformt wird. Nach einer Weile beginnst du mit den Abnahmen für eine perfekt geformte Spitze.
