Fresta Hat
Traditional intertwining cables wrap the hem of this winter hat. The construction is deceptively simple: knit the cable hem and join the two ends, then pick up stitches for the crown. Fresta cowl and fingerless mitts are also available.
Finished Size: 21” circumference, stretches to approximately 23”
Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Traveller, 100% Superwash merino wool, 280yd/4 oz. My sample used approximately 170 yards.
Needles: 16” circular needle and set of 5 double-pointed needles or your preferred method for knitting small circumferences in the round; size 5 US (3.75 mm) or size to obtain gauge
Gauge: 20 stitches/28 rows per 4” blocked stockinette in the round
