I love to experiment with different ways to use color to make a doily dramatic with out being too busy. On this piece I was trying to tie in the colors of a varigated thread into the whole piece. Though there are only three rows of the varigated thread, it set the tone for the Free Spirit doily. The doily measures 15 and 1/2inches across and is done in 5 colors of size 10 thread.
The Free Spirit Doily was the 1st place winner in the 2015 CGOA design competition for the Thread division.
