“These socks were designed to fit over other socks for cozy sitting. The tops were made by free-form knitting — adding small pieces, casting off, picking up, and adding again. My feet were my models, and I built up pieces to cover them as far as the soles (a gymnastic challenge) then added ribbing and soles.”
