Frank is a one skein Flamingo
The pattern for him includes instructions for knitting all the pieces flat and instructions for knitting the body and head and wings in the round
Materials: 1 x 50g (1 3/4oz) skein of Coopknits ‘Socks Yeah! DK’ yarn in shade 206 (Morpheus)
1m (1 1/10yds) of black 4-ply (fingering) yarn
1m (1 1/10yds) of white 4-ply (fingering) yarn
Two black 6mm (1/4 in) toy safety eyes
Toy filling
Needles: To work flat:
Pair of 3mm (UK 11, US 2 or 3) knitting needles
Pair of 2.5mm (UK 12 or 13, US 1 or 2) knitting needles
Pair of 3mm (UK 11, US 2 or 3) double pointed knitting needles
(for working the legs using the i-cord technique)
To work in the round:
Set of 3mm (UK11, US 2 or 3) double pointed knitting needles
Notions: Darning needle, Stitch markers, Pins
Techniques: Cast on (which ever method you prefer), increasing and decreasing, German short row shaping, i-cord. All techniques are fully explained.
