For the Love of Garter V1.0
A 1-color garter stitch triangular shawl that is truly purl-free!
THE STORY
I love garter stitch - it eliminates that pesky purl stitch that just messes with my flow. This shawl has NO purl sts - just good ol’ garter and some simple lace. This shawl is the quintessential TV knit project!
MATERIALS
- Tôt le Matin Yarns Tôt Sport (sport weight; 100% superwash merino wool; 328 yds/ 300 m per 3.5 oz / 100g), 3 skeins: ‘Champagne’
- US 6 (4 mm) 32” / 80 cm circular needle (or length preferred for comfort)
- Locking/removable stitch marker (optional)
- Ring stitch markers (14)
- Row counter (optional, recommended)
- Tapestry needle
FINISHED SIZE
62” / 157.5 cm width along neckline edge; 26” / 66 cm depth from neckline edge to center point
PROJECT GAUGE
24 sts and 42 rows = 4” over garter stitch worked flat, taken after blocking
NOTES

This triangular shawl is worked sideways from the cast on point to the bound off long edge, with the longest edge being the neckline of the shawl.

Written instructions are provided for the entirety of the shawl. Charted instructions are provided for the Body of the shawl following the Cast On & Setup section.

Note that the charted instructions vary graphically from the written instructions. Work from the written instructions for the Cast On & Setup Section, then the remainder of the shawl may be worked from the charts with the exception of the Border and Bind Off.
