Folded Rib Cowl
by Lynne Barr
For this pattern, 24 stitches of a chunky yarn on US 9 straight needles yielded the right width for a cowl. I worked the pattern exactly as in the book for 14 or 15 repeats, working until the ends matched up nicely. I then cast off and seamed it.
This used all of two skeins of the yarn, and yielded a cowl that is somewhere between close-fitting and draped. If you wish to use a different yarn and needles, you will need to adjust the number of cast on stitches and the number of pattern repeats to make the size you desire.
With the chunky yarn, large needles, and easy pattern, this comes together really quickly - just three or four hours.
