I liked knitting Florence’s Diamond Strip from 1886 so much, I incorporated it into a scarf. This scarf pattern is 33 stitches wide and has 18 pattern rows. All the wrong side rows are purl across except for the 2 selvage stitches. I used a cotton yarn to show the stitches clearly but a wool scarf would look great, too!
The swatch is 7 inches wide at gauge.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl, YO, k2tog, SSK, SK2P and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

58 yards of Lion Brand 24/7 yarn will make 10 inches of this scarf at gauge.
