Flames Cowl
The reversible stitch pattern allows you to wear the cowl any way you want without having to worry about the wrong side. On the one side of the cowl there is a flame-like stitch pattern and on the other side a textured rib pattern.
The cowl is worked in the round top down in one piece without seaming.
Size:
One size
Circumference 40” / 100 cm along cast on edge, 44” / 112 cm along bind off edge, height 5.5” / 14 cm from cast on to bind off
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn, exactly 210 yards / 192 meters was used for the sample cowl, but I recommend having some more just in case (test knitters’ yardages varied between 210-230 yards / 190-210 meters)
Sample shown in:
Malabrigo Rios (100 % superwash merino, 210 yards / 192 m per 100 g) color Sunset, 1 skein
Needles:
US 8 (5 mm) circular needle, 32” / 80 cm long and one double pointed needle of the same size
OR needle size that gives you the stitch gauge!
Notions:
A stitch marker, a tapestry needle
Gauge:
16 sts and 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch worked in the round, after blocking
Stitch gauge is more important, change needle size if necessary to obtain gauge!
