Fitz
Inspired by Jane Austen’s most famous romantic interest, Fitz is a sturdy fingerless mitt perfect for your own Mr. Darcy. Like Mr. Darcy, these mitts have more detail and interest than initially meets the eye. A mock cable border flows smoothly into a subtle allover mini cable lattice in the main section of the mitts. The stitch pattern is easy to memorize and provides a good opportunity to practice cables if you are unfamiliar with them.
Gauge 30 sts and 44 rows = 4” in st st on size 2(2.75 mm) needles, 42 sts and 44 rows=4” in mini cable lattice stitch on size 2 (2.75 mm) needles.
Sizing Finished circumference around palm of hand is 7.75 (8.5, 9.25)”. Mitts shown measure 8.5”. Finished length is 8 (8.5, 9.25)”.
Notions Marker (m); extra double pointed needle or cable needle; ~12” scrap yarn in a contrast color for thumb gusset; tapestry needle
