Gauge is not important as cowl can be made smaller or larger depending on how many stitches are cast on and how many rows are completed.

Instructions give detail of stitch count and row count if you wish to adapt the pattern to make a different size.

Amount of yarn required will depend on size of cowl. Approximately 128 yards is needed to make a cowl as shown in the picture.
