SUMMARY: Fisherman is a plain knitted garment in either a round neck, rolled collar, drop shoulder, long-sleeved pullover version or a round-neck, drop shoulder, long-sleeved jacket version with an elongated point polo collar. The bottom edge, cuffs and collar of the pullover version are worked in a K2, P2 ribbing pattern, with a buttonband at the shoulder for the smaller sizes. The bottom edge, buttonbands, cuffs and collar of the jacket version are worked in a garter stitch pattern. The polo collar is worked separately and attached to the garment in the finishing stages. The shoulders of both versions are joined by casting off stitches together on the right side, forming a decorative shoulder ridge.
Although Chunky Tweed and Chunky Plain yarns are listed, the pattern has also been shown worked in Rowan D. D. K, used treble throughout (3 strands). “To knit garment in D. D. K. allow a third more yarn than stated …”
