Fire Dance is a lovely lace hat. The lace motif is both delicate and strong, just like the peak of spring which inspired the design. Fire Dance is a sister pattern of the Beltane shawl. They make a great pair – and work well on their own too!

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 16.5” / 42 cm.
Height: 8.25” / 21 cm.

YARN
Xolla Pastoreta (100% wool; 218 yds / 200 m – 50 g), colourway Cirera. 1 skein.
Or approx. 140 (160) yds / 128 (146) m of fingering-weight yarn.

NEEDLES
US 4 / 3.5 mm 16” / 40 cm circular needles. Or other needles for small circumference knitting. DPNs may be useful for the crown decreases.

GAUGE
30 sts x 38 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.

NOTES
The yarn I used is a non-superwash woollen spun yarn. If you’re using another type of yarn, your gauge may vary. Pick a needle size that gives you a fabric you’re happy with. If your gauge is tighter than the sample hat, I recommend doing the larger size.
