Fir Cone Lace Simple
The Fir Cone Lace Simple is a triangular shawl worked from the tip up to the top. With it’s “long tail” shaping, and a single classic lace pattern, this Lace Simple drapes and wraps beautifully.
The Fir Cone lace pattern is presented in charted form.
Instructions are given for both a Petite Shawl using sport-weight yarn (brown version; materials listed above) and the Full Shawl using worsted-weight yarn (light gray version; materials listed below). The Full Shawl is approximately 30% larger than the Petite Shawl.
The larger “Full” shawl uses approximately 500yds/ 458m of worsted-weight wool (model used Brown Sheep Company Nature Spun worsted-weight wool, color #N03; 2 balls.).
The gauge for the full shawl is 14 sts and 20 rows / 4 inches in Blocked Stockinette Stitch on a size 9 needle or size needed to obtain gauge.
