Fifi Skirt
CONSTRUCTION
This simple skirt features a delicate cable pattern, adorning the front and back panels. Using this pattern you will create a stylish, wearable garment which can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. The soft luxurious yarn used, a mixture of wool and yak fibre, is light and warm against the skin.
The skirt is worked seamlessly from the top down, beginning with a folded waistband which holds an elastic band. The front and back of the skirt are worked in a braided cable pattern, while the sides are increased in 3x1 ribbing. The ribbed side panels are not mirrored; one slants forward while the other slants back. This allows for simplicity during construction and potential reversibility of the garment once complete.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
This pattern has 9 size options. Choose a size that will give 0-1 inches (0-2.5cm) of negative ease at natural waist (the difference between body’s larger measurements and the garment’s smaller measurements at this point). Ideally, you should also achieve 4-5 inches (10-12.5cm) of negative ease at hips. The most fool-proof method is to measure a similar fitting garment in your wardrobe and choose a size that matches.
