Fernweh
Fernweh is the sentiment of longing to be someplace far. A bit like homesick, but with a twist, longing for a far away place and not necessarily one you have actually been to.
This shawl is the same way, familiar and different at the same time. A simple garter stripe shawl, but with a twist.
This asymmetric shawl features a mosaic slipped-stitch border and is especially designed for all of us that would rather use up as much of the yummy yarn on hand, this shawl does not have a main and a contrast color, but rather 2 equals.
Only one color is used per row, the intricate looking border pattern is all done in a slip stitch/mosaic technique, no stranding yarn or working with 2 colors at one time required!
The pattern shifts colors and uses up as much of both yarns as possible!
