Fernlore was born from my love for simple, spontaneous projects – the kind you cast on just because you’ve found that one beautiful skein you can’t stop looking at.

I’ve always had a soft spot for one-skein shawls: they’re quick to knit, relaxing, and somehow always find their place in our everyday lives, whether draped over the shoulders on a cool evening or wrapped around the neck for a touch of comfort and color.

The shallow triangular shape gives plenty of length without too much depth, making it easy to wear and style. The mix of garter stitch and lace creates a pleasant rhythm, offering both calm and interest throughout the knitting process.

Fernlore comes in two sizes: the smaller version is perfect for using just one skein of fingering weight yarn, while the larger one is more generous and cozy for those who like to wrap up in a big shawl.

My small pink sample was knit in La Bien Aimée Merino Singles, while the larger yellow version combines Merino Singles with Alix held double.

This design is a collaboration with La Bien Aimée and Favorite Knitting Studio, and the pattern is available in three languages – English, French, and Chinese.

Or approx. 300 meters of fingering weight yarn and 550 meters of lace weight yarn (275 meters in double).
For the bigger size, the lace weight yarn (Alix) is hold double.

Fernlore est un châle né de mon amour pour ces projets simples et rapides, ceux qu’on démarre sur un coup de tête, juste avec un bel écheveau qu’on a envie de mettre en valeur.

J’aime particulièrement les modèles à un seul écheveau : ils se tricotent vite, sans contrainte, et trouvent toujours leur place dans nos vies – sur les épaules lors d’une soirée fraîche, ou enroulés autour du cou pour apporter une touche de douceur.

Sa forme de triangle peu profond permet d’obtenir un maximum de longueur sans excès de matière, pour un tombé fluide et facile à porter. Le jeu entre point mousse et dentelle crée un rythme agréable et un tricot à la fois relaxant et stimulant.

Fernlore est proposé en deux tailles : la plus petite, parfaite pour utiliser un seul écheveau de laine fingering, et la plus grande, plus enveloppante, pour celles et ceux qui aiment les châles généreux.

Ma petite version (rose) est tricotée en Merino Singles de La Bien Aimée, tandis que la grande (jaune) combine Merino Singles et Alix tenue en double.
