You could make two or three in a good evening of knitting so there’s still time to make a little felted pumpkin friend for this year’s Halloween decorations. I made a happy face but my kids are campaigning for a mad pumpkin too, it’s up to you! Or skip the face and have a hollow pumpkin vessel.

Knit in the round and felted, the pumpkin is shaped by drying it with a balloon inside. Once it’s dry, pop the balloon and cut out eyes and a mouth. For a great effect, drop a battery-powered votive inside!
