Fashion Doll Size Chairs
Recently I ran across an old fashion doll chair that was made for my dolls. This chair was made in the early 1960’s and used crochet covering a tuna can. On the edge of the chair was a drop of dried blood where I apparently cut a finger on a sharp can edge. Now that we are more “let’s protect the children from” as opposed to a “let’s subject the children to” society, we choose safer, less painful methods of creating items for the children in our life.
I created this pattern that uses plastic canvas (of course, you can substitute cardboard tubes (like the tubes had have crochet cotton) or any other safe item in the same dimensions) as a chair base, seat and back. Finished size of these chairs are approx; 6 inches from top of chair to bottom of chair,
2 ¾ – 3 inches from seat to bottom of chair, Seat diameter 3 inches, and Back diameter 3 inches. (these are a much better fit than the tuna can variety)
This pattern uses a very small amount of 4ply ww yarn and is a great stash busting, take along project.
