Fariba the Fairy Doll
FARIBA THE FAIRY is a magical celebration fairy. She can be created for Christmas or a birthday girl. Add as much sparkle as you can, raid your beads and ribbons for anything with added glitz!
I have included guidelines for 4ply/fingering; double knit/lightweight worsted or Aran/worsted weight. Yarns quoted are only what I have played with, there are lots of yarn choices available.
Fariba is knitted flat, feet, legs and body is one piece. Arms, head, ears, wig and wings are knitted and sewn on. I have included a very detail step by step making up guide to help you. To save your printer ink it is a good idea to download and just print off the pattern directions, referring to the making up guide on screen.
Suggested yarn guide:
Skin tone: (4ply) Drops Baby Merino Powder (1 ball is plenty)
(double knit) King Cole Cherish Champagne (1 ball is plenty)
(Aran) Rico Essentials Soft Merino Pink (2 balls)
Dress: (4ply) King Cole Party Glitz (1 ball); Peter Pan Moon Dust (2 balls)
(double knit) James C Brett Twinkle (1 ball); King Cole Glitz (2 balls)
(Aran) Caron Simply Soft Party (2 balls)
Wig: King Cole Eyelash Tinsel (1 ball)
Wings: Twilleys Goldfingering (1 ball); Rico Creative Lame (1 ball)
These yarns are only suggestions and ones I have used. There are lots of sparkly yarns available, have fun playing and creating different yarn weights and textures. Raid your bead and ribbon stashes to bling your finished fairy ☺
