The Farfalle motif pattern is charted. Mosaic colorwork is created by working 2 rows with a main color (MC) and followed by 2 rows with a contrast color (CC), slipping stitches to produce the pattern.

The Farfalle cardigan is worked in pieces and seamed. The body and sleeves are worked with allover mosaic and ribbed hems, cuffs and front band.

It is shown in rustic woolly yarns with a solid color for the MC and a self-striping multi-colored yarn for the CC. Working in pieces and seaming allows for more consistent stripes with the CC and adds a little structure to the garment. It is intended to have a relaxed, boxy jacket fit, with sleeves wide enough to be worn over layers. It has minimal shaping and an open front with a wide ribbed collar. If you prefer a narrower or wider sleeve then is suggested for your size, swap out the sleeve that gives you your preferred fit. You can add or subtract length as desired. Alterations will affect the total yardage/meterage so plan your yarn purchases accordingly.
