Falling Up
This pattern was inspired by a sweater I saw at the mall. I was determined to figure out the stitch pattern of a little panel near the shoulders because I thought it would make a great sock.
After some trial and error I made a version that I think might even be slightly better. The only problem? It requires that the socks be knit toe-up. I’m usually a cuff-down sock knitter, so it was a bit challenging, but ultimately a lot of fun to design a toe-up sock pattern.
This pattern includes a modified gusseted short row heel - my favorite in terms of fit and similarity to a heel flap - but don’t worry, there are no stitches to pick up!
NOTE: There is an error in the print version of the pattern. The ribbing should read:
Cuff
Begin ribbing: ktbl, p2, k2, p1, k1, p1, k2, p2; repeat around
