Evergreen & Stone
Written for the Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop ’25: In the Garden, this design was inspired by essential elements of Japanese Gardens. Evergreens and stones play into more than just the colors of this design; they are reflected in the front post stitches that reach between rows and the wheel motif that mimics a stone path. This design honors the simple beauty of a natural landscape as it’s curated by human hands.
This one-size shoulder cozy/cowl is worked bottom up & continuously in the round through Row 18. You will fasten off each color change of the wheel motif, rejoining each color where indicated. You will work decrease rows intermittently to shape the shoulders.
Finished Measurements:
50” bust (arms by your side) x 34” shoulder circumference x 9.5” long
Gauge:
16 dc & 9 rows = 4” (10cm) before blocking
You will need:
• 2 hanks of DK weight yarn (1 of each color), 245yds each
• US 7 (4.5mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge
• 3 locking stitch markers
• Tapestry Needle
