Epistropheid
This cosy hat, with a graphic crown and an optional pompom, is based on the same chart as my Epistrophy yoke (hence Epistrop-heid).
sizes:
S, M , L to fit: child, adult, (neat fit), adult (slouchy fit)
Yarn
Kate Davies Designs Buachaille (100% Scottish Wool; 120 yards / 110 m per 50g skein)
MC: haar (light grey) / or furze (gold) 1 skein
CC: macallum (red) / or squall (dark grey) 1 skein
If substituting yarn, you will need 100-105m / 105-118 yds in MC and 80-90m / 90-100 yards in CC (estimate includes 10% swatching allowance)
Needles & Notions
Gauge-size, and below gauge-size 40cm/16in circular needle for brim and body
Gauge-size double-pointed needles (DPNs), or longer circular needle, for finishing crown
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Optional: pompom maker and sharp sewing needle for attaching pompom to crown.
