Envelope Hat
Pages: 102 & 104. (Note: the Envelope Hat is a variation of the Three-Way Hat.)
Pattern description from Knitting for Dummies: “With this pattern, you can make three different hats. The Tassel Hat is the basic beginning hat - a knitted rectangle with a fold-up cuff. The Envelope Hat and Tie Hat diverge from the basic hat by ending in different ways. Try these in the different versions shown and experiment with the other variations given at the end of the pattern.”
Size: Small (baby), medium, and large. The numbers given in the pattern before the parentheses are for the small size. The numbers given within the parentheses are for the medium and large sizes, respectively. You may want to highlight or circle the numbers
Measurements: 18 (20 and 22) inches in diameter
Materials: Three 3.5-ounce/50-gram skeins (approximately 138 yards) of Classic Elite Waterspun (or any yarn that yields the necessary gauge), one pair of size 7 needles.
Knitting Tip: “To work these hats in the round, cast on 2 fewer stitches to eliminate the 2 seam stitches. See Chapter 17 for more about knitting in the round (or circular knitting).”
