Enchantment for Year of Scarves 1/26/14
by Susan Huxley
Luxurious and classy, this scarf is suitable for year-round wear; equally at home work as a shawl at a wedding or wrapped around the neck several times on a much cooler day.
The work is a spin-off a shawl I designed for a one-day speed stitching event. It highlights the vandyke stitch pattern, which looks great sideways, yet is simple and repetitive. To give the rib definition with the soft featured yarn, a 2:3 twisted rib trims both long edges. You only work one stitch pattern at a time.
This pattern is free one day only: Jan 26. After that it’s available for a nominal fee.
