Empire is a modern interpretation of a traditional gansey sweater, with set-in sleeves updating the traditionally boxy gansey sweater for a modern fit. Both yoke and sleeves are textured with a high relief pattern that calls to mind sleek architectural lines, giving it its name, Empire.

The sweater is knit in pieces, flat, and then seamed together. The neckband is then picked up and added at the end. Stitch pattern is written.
